The ARBORES VITAE Cinema

Weekly special screenings – a series of 8 shows on Saturdays and Sundays at 7 p.m. in the exhibition’s multimedia pavilion (CORT, 11th Powiśle street)


Within the framework of the ARBORES VITAE cinema’s special screenings, audiences will have the opportunity to take virtual trips to the Bialowieza Primeval Forest, seen from several different perspectives, in some cases normally inaccessible to man. Firstly, audiences will every week be able to witness the special trips in time and the artistic evolution Bożena and Jan Walencik, whose latest work the Saga of the primeval forest is a series of natural history stories, a completely new way of looking at nature and telling about it. Secondly, this is a trip into the Primeval Forest not so much from the perspective of a visitor as a resident – a wolf, a vole, a beetle and a wild boar among others.

The Arbores Vitae cinema’s last show will surprisingly enough take its audience to Kenya in order to reflect more deeply on the role of nature in the life of humans. This life story of Wangari Maathai, the winner of the 2004 Nobel Peace Prize, leaves one in no doubt: a tree's seedling can in essence be a seedling of hope and world peace.
