OPINIONS

We were most interested to learn about the exhibition program presenting through the art of photography the beauty of the Bialowieza Primeval Forest and the unusual biological diversity of the region, and also the rich educational program accompanying the whole project. At the same time we wish to express our admiration for the authors and organizers of last year's project, which, judging from the number of spectators, served to popularize the Bialowieza Primeval Forest and promote this region.

The exceptional nature of the Bialowieza Primeval Forest - a place that UNESCO has awarded the status of a World Biosphere Reserve, and also the only Polish natural feature included on UNESCO’s World Heritage List – places on us a duty to protect it and induces us to popularize and disseminate its importance.

I am convinced that disseminating knowledge about the Bialowieza Primeval Forest, with special regard for the  NATURA 2000 European Ecological Network in a modern and very attractive fashion will help to break down stereotypes connected with the program and will show the advantages of launching this initiative not only for the environment, but also man. That is why I am pleased to be selected as this event’s honourable patron.
